It's the 3 R's show

With Sturridge out and Aguero and Suarez not registering on the scoresheet it was left to the 3 R's, Rooney, Ramsey and Remy to win the points. Even that old favourite of FL managers Demba Ba won some points for a change with a goal and an assist. It's probably the best he's ever done in a Chelsea shirt.

In our league, both Peter Bradley and Pari Passu’s Bernie Wilcox moved up a place at the expense of Lee Mitchell. Martin Scrivens and Laurence Chilver were both new entries into the top 10 and Phil Ngoc’s team, pureluck got lucky with Coleman, Ozil, Ramsey and Rooney. Lewis McKenny held on to the top spot despite his forward line of Aguero, Suarez and Giroud only bringing him in 7 points.

The top 10 are as follows:

Lewis McKenny

Bernie Wilcox, Pari Passu

Peter Bradley

Lee Mitchell
Martin Scrivens

Lawrence Chilver

Sachin Ruparella

Jay Egersdorff

Phil Ngoc

Andrew Midgely

Manager of the Week

Martin Scrivens has come from nowhere to 5th spot with a superb score of 89 points this week courtesy of Ozil, Ramsey, Rooney and, wait for it, Hull’s David Meyler. Meyler’s previous maximum number of points was just 2 and he’s spent most of the season scoring either 0 or 1 but yesterday he had the game of his life against the mighty Liverpool and got a goal and an assist. Martin actually had him on the bench and he was an automatic substitution for Yanga-Mbiwa. Still, 13 points is 13 points.

Well done Martin.

At 56th place and 94 points we find a complete newcomer to these pages, Mark Rothwell and his Ivan Campo Select XI. You may remember Campo’s permed hair when he left Real Madrid and went on to play for Bolton Wanderers. On a day when most managers’ captains went missing, Mark was simply inspirational in choosing City’s in form midfielder, Samir Nasri as his. With 2 goals and bonus points as well Sami earner Mark a superb 32 points this week.

Brilliant week, Mark.

The Dream Team

The Dreamteam is the best combination of players that you can pick that week. It’s always a good clue to up and coming players that few managers have picked which is important for those of you not in the top ten because you’re never going to make it by picking the same players as the top managers. Looking for value in unpopular but high performing players is essential if you’re going to make progress.

Aaron Ramsey isn’t the most popular player in the FL for nothing. His price has risen by an amazing 35% since the start of the season and for a very good reason and he’s still a bargain at £7.4m. One to watch is City’s Samir Nasri who is on devastating form this season and bagged a couple of goals against Swansea yesterday.

Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge who has scored 11 times this season and who has struck up a devastating partnership with Luis Suarez has injured his ankle ligaments in training and will be out for up to 8 weeks. A straight swap for Rooney we think.

“I approached Tim and Futura when I was considering new career opportunities. Tim and his colleagues took the time to listen to what exactly I was looking for and what I wanted to move away from. I was presented with a number of opportunities all of which matched my requirements. I was able to secure a new position quickly and am convinced I have made the right move for my career. The process was smooth trouble free thanks to the support Tim provided. I would recommend Tim and Futura to anybody who is looking for make a move.”
