Farewell Martin

It’s hotting up at the top and bottom end of the premier league table with teams battling out for Europe spots and fighting the dreaded drop, yet it is the sacking of Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill which was the headline of the Easter weekend. With only 2 points from their last 7 games, it came as no surprise but we hope the mackams have a contingency plan. Who will be next to receive their P45?

Gareth Bale was the most vice captained this week but it was Paul Macildowie’s Real Socialdad who showed initiative and captained the prolific wide man which helped him to an impressive 72 points. His team also contained Cazorla, Michu and a front three of Suarez, Lambert and Tevez. Well Played Paul!

Following swiftly behind Paul was Howard Greenwood’s Hbomb, Adam Eld’s Justin tilbury FC and Antonio Lera’s Caribenos all with a huge 70 points.  Also having a good week was Tim Goodwin’s St Domingo and Keith Sammons ARM Strollers.

Inspirational Manager of the week

It goes without saying that Paul Macildowie’s Real Socialdad had the best team this week, but manager of the week goes to someone else. Although he didn’t get the highest points this week John Hunter is still at the top of the table and is only increasing his lead (albeit by 5 points) to his nearest rival. This week he gained points from shot stopper Mark Schwarzer and relegation fighting Christian Benteke who was unlucky to score more. Can anyone catch him with 7 games to go? Shall we crown him champ already? Only time will tell. Good drills so far John.

The Dream team

The Dream team is the best combination of players that you can pick that week. It’s always a good clue to up and coming players that few managers have picked. Looking for value in unpopular but high performing players is essential if you’re going to make progress

Gareth Bale is yet again in the dream team which has seen his stock rise to 10.9mil. Berba helped himself to an easy brace and Andy Carroll also scored two in sumptuous fashion which not many people benefited from according to his 0.4 ownership percentage. Gervinho gained the highest points this week with 14. 2 goals in 2 is maybe something that would interest those brave managers.

My bet is there will not be this many City players in the dream team next week as they take on the league leaders. Choose wisely.

Page 2 Pacesetters

Those guys down in the nether regions of the league that have had a superb week

Paul Jordan’s Mike hunts fact hunts topped page 2 with a very good 69 points which were collected from Bale, Gerrard, Suarez, Berbatov, Lambert and Jamie McAnuff. If only he had shown the same decision making of Paul Macildowie and captained Bale (or Berba). Keep it up Paul, Page 1 is in sight.

Kudos to Ash Holmes and Kim Blackburn for good scores.

Taxi for...

 Youssouf Mulumbu

With seconds left of the game (if that) Mulumbu picked the ball up after getting clipped and booted it at Gary O’Neil in frustration. This ‘malicious’ act got him sent off and a 3 match ban!! At least do something that actually deserves a red card. I’m sure Wigan’s Mcmanaman can give you a few tips Yousouff.

“Megan contacted me at a time when I wasn't looking to move on from my current role at all. However, Megan believed that her client (my now current employer) could offer me the things that were missing in my role at the time - and she was right. Megan has a very nice approach, listens to what you say and she matched me perfectly with not only the company, but also the type of person I wanted to work for. She was a fantastic help throughout the process and I can't recommend her highly enough.”
