What a run in!
If we forget the Mourinho Machine being almost boringly on target for the whole season to win the league, the final month of the season looks absolutely fantastic. Who will finish second? Could Long Ball Louis pip both City and Arsenal into 2nd place and disprove the early doubters? Could Arsenal actually give Chelsea a run for their money with their no pressure brilliance? Could Pellegrini throw the occasional teacup and prove that he's not actually deceased nor a poor imitation of Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts? Could Southampton pip Liverpool and Spurs to 5th place and could Burnley, QPR or Leicester avoid the drop? It's not been this exciting since Balotelli squeezed his only assist ever in a City shirt to Aguero to win the Prem in 2012.
In our league, the choice of captain separated the men and the boys with those brave enough to put their faith in Charlie Austin playing twice but both of them away, amply rewarded. In fact, Matt Newman was even braver than that picking Benteke as his captain, particularly given the Belgian international’s previous record of just 3 goals in 13 games before this weekend’s double header. This gameweek really could be a turning point with potential winners chucking away their chances like Manuel Pellegrini.
The top 10 are as follows:
Oli Ottey – Goodman Masson
John West – Meridian
Sachin Ruparelia, Camino Partners
Manager of the Week
Wow! Two managers beating the ton in consecutive weeks. This time, Chisa Mkala has scored an incredible 114 points courtesy of captaining Benteke and also having Charlie Austin in his forward line. It’s a pity that his other forward, Harry Kane only brought in 2 points but Harry’s teammate, Eric Dier chipped in with 9 so all was not lost at Spurs.
Great performance Chisa and welcome to the newsletter.

The last time was saw Steve King was in week 28 when he was the Best of the Rest winner with 105 points in 105th place. How did he do that? Well he’s done even better this week and now sits just below Page 1 in 52nd place with a huge 93 points. Austin was his captain but Hazard and Sanchez helped along the way.
What a turnaround for Steve. Maybe next season he could start getting serious at the beginning and challenge the Top 10?
The Best of the Rest
In 136th place we find another member of the ton-up club in Mike Classen and his 100 points. Benteke’s 46 and Hazard’s 13 gave Mike 59% of his points this week. Inspirational!
Very well done Mike. Can the Belgian repeat his performance against Spurs next week?
Only Harry Kane and Charlie Austin have scored more points as a striker this season than Kun Aguero however, we’re now in April and Kun has only found the net 3 times in 2015 with the last time being 5 games ago. It’s not even as if he’s playing well but not getting the ball in the onion bag – his form has been as dismal as the rest of the City side and looking at the way they played against Palace on Monday night – 80% possession but just 4 shots on target – it doesn’t look like they’re going to improve short of Pellegrini getting the bullet which he surely will unless City destroy Manchester United as usual next Sunday.
Who to buy instead? Assuming you’ve got Austin and Kane, then Giroud is the obvious choice with Rooney and Sturridge being not too far behind. However, a word of warning. Kun has scored 4 goals in his last 3 Derbies.
