The new imports lead the way

New imports Diego Costa and Angel De Maria have lit up the EPL in just a few short weeks and in Di Maria's case, just one week. Costa has now scored seven times in four league appearances, from just 14 shots. Torres took 43 games to register that many. Not only has Costa has equalled TalkSport presenter, Micky Quinn's 22 year old record of scoring in his first 4 EPL games but he's beaten Quinny's & Kun Aguero's record of scoring 6 goals in the opening 4 games. We still think Quinny's record is the better one though as he was playing for Coventry City in a team of no-hopers!

In last season’s Fantasy League, the rule was “Captain Suarez.” With the Uruguayan’s departure to Barcelona, this rule has been replaced with “Captain Costa.” His so-called injury put a lot of us off that and many of us went for Sterling instead only to gain a mere 2 points from the in-form England star when Brendan Rogers inexplicably rested him because he’d played 180 minutes for the international team 6 days earlier. If a 19 year old with jet heels can’t play a game of footy 6 days after the last one, you have to wonder what the world is coming to. In this season’s inaugural Top 10 only one manager Andy Lytle DIDN’T select Costa as captain. Who did Liverpool fanatic Andy chose instead? Wayne Rooney of course!

Manager of the Week

It takes some skill to come straight from being George Michael’s sidekick in Wham! to a superb career in recruitment AND be a top Fantasy League manager, but not only is Andrew our Manager of the Week but he’s got form and was regularly in the Top 10 last season. This is no fluke guys – watch this man like a hawk.

Taxi for...........

Mesut Ozil

When Ozil arrived from Real Madrid last season we all had high hopes for him and he really did deliver in the first few weeks. Since then, he’s fallen off a cliff and with just 6 points from 4 games so far this season, there are better ways to spend £9m.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged the Gunners to give him more time following the German’s lacklusture showing against City at the weekend. We can’t find any other Arsenal legends that agree with Ray on this one and we’d advise you to drop him fast and buy Fabby or De Maria.

“I approached Tim Goodwin at Futura as well as a large number of other recruiters when looking for employment in 2009. It is fair to say that Tim was by far the most productive of the recruiters utilised, resulting in being offered a position with a highly respected company. Tim kept in touch throughout the process and demonstrated a high level of knowledge within the North West marketplace. Obviously I hope not to have to utilise Tim's services in the near future but strongly recommend him to other consultants.”
