The assist before the assist.

Should they change the FPL rules to give credit to the assist before the assist?

In gameweek 12, we saw Mata’s goal against Arsenal created by Pogba’s pass to Herrera. Pereyra did the same for Watford against Leicester and who could argue that Chelsea’s goal against Boro was created by anyone other than Hazard who put the corner into the box before it was deflected off someone’s 50p head for Costa to score?

At City, who could possibly believe that the wonderful David Silva who controls City’s game more than anyone else has only recorded 2 assists all season, the same as his defensive teammate and first class buffoon, Nicolas Otamendi?

We like the simplicity of the assist system but we also think that it’s time to also reward those playmakers who make our wonderful game so beautiful to watch.

Let us know what you think and we’ll publish the best comments in the coming weeks.

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Manager of the Week

Richard Hogg.......

Richard was hoping that his Liverpool pairing of Firmino and Coutinho we going to do the business for him against Sunderland but it was his Arsenal duo of Sanchez (c) and Walcott that brought him an incredible 37 points against Bournemouth. Add in another 19 from Austin and Aguero and you’ve got a very handy 88 points. Not a bad week for Richard given that West Ham also came away with a point at Old Trafford. Can they do better than that in the EFL Cup on Wednesday we wonder?

Keep up the pressure on the leaders Richard!

Andrew Dyson......

With 71 points in 57th place we’ve got a very happy Chelsea fan in Andrew Dyson. Andrew actually came an overall 7th last season and so his fortunes and that of his favourite team seem to be going in different directions. Aguero (c), Sanchez, Austin and his two (why only two?) Chelsea players, Moses and Costa all made for a great week for Andrew.

Come on Andrew. You can do a lot better than this. Pull your finger out!

The Best of the Rest

Andrew England......

At 134th place with 76 points we find Andrew England. Andrew has obviously got a superb crystal ball or has got extremely lucky this week in that he has 12 points for Negredo who hasn’t scored since the opening day of the season. Looking at Andrew’s transfer history of 5 all season we can see that he has a very lively social life, unlike some of us saddo’s.

A great week Andrew. Have a drink on us mate.

Taxi for...........

David de Gea......

The very talented United keeper is the most selected goalie in the FPL with 37% of managers choosing him. Whilst his clean sheets record isn’t too bad at 4, he’s hardly Courtois is he? As goalies win their points from both clean sheets and saves, he’s probably suffered from the quality of his defence stopping the shots before they even get to him and whilst Burnley’s Heaton had made 63 saves up to the end of gameweek 12, the Spaniard had only made 24. Against West Ham on Sunday, he only made one. Swapping him out for Heaton would save you 0.7m and give you a miles better differential over your rivals.

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

Gylfi SigNamanja Matic…….

Which first choice Chelsea player is the at the same time the cheapest, the top of the value form table for the club and has more assists at 7 so far than any other Premiership player other than the mercurial Kevin de Bruyne? If we told you that player is just £5.1 million and has less than 5% ownership would you consider him?

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

The top manager of the whole league this week comes from England in the form of Carles Suarez, however with a name like that we suspect a little Catalan influence. Carles scored 78 points this week to take him to an incredible 849 points.

So what’s his team?

Van Dijk

Ibra (c)

His subs were

Heaton, Whelan, Lenihan, Browning

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it’s the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren’t putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn’t it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?

“Natasha recently placed me in my role at Robert Walters. From the first telephone call between Natasha and I, she listened well and fully understood what I wanted. Natasha throughout the process always went the extra- miles and was professional and friendly. Within 2 weeks, Natasha had arranged many interviews for myself and secured me a fantastic new job in a great company with a payrise! I would highly recommend Natasha to friends and companies. I can honestly say after all the long phone calls and dedication to finding me the right role within the right company Natasha is a friend as well as business acquaintance. Thanks Tash!”
