Short game weeks begin

Next week is the first of the short game weeks of the season. We only have 4 games going on next week after City beat Huddersfield to play Boro next Saturday in the FA Cup.

The next round, the semis played at Wembley will be played in GameWeek 34 on the weekend of 21 April. Barring any upsets next Saturday, we’ll have four premiership teams in the semi’s from a cohort of Boro, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and ManU.

The interesting thing is when these games and those of next weekend will be played. In addition to that, the games between City and ManU along with Southampton and Arsenal that were postponed by the EFL Cup Final also still have to be played.

We are definitely coming into double gameweek territory soon and that means it’s time to play your chips. Don’t forget though, you can’t play a chip in the same gameweek as a wildcard.

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Jay Egersdorff, ESP

Marc Cohen

Stuart Burton, FuturaRec2Rec

Jonathan Sweasey, PDA Search and Selection

Neil Arnold

Allan Fullarton

Keith Sammons

Mark Mayall

Marcus Francis

Chris McEnaney

Manager of the Week

Phu.......

Phu came an overall second in the 2013/14 season and since then he’s disappeared from view so it’s with great pleasure that we welcome him back with a superb 99 points this week. Phu played his triple captain chip with Aguero but he failed to realise that City never put that many past Stoke. He’d have been better with Harry maybe?

Great to have you back Phu.

Sam Hackett......

Back in GameWeek 8, Sam was in the Top 10. How the mighty have fallen and he now languishes in 74th place but he’s has a good week. 92 points worth of good week that is. Pieters, Hazard, Mane, Alli and Kane were all on top form for our Sam. With a team like this he really should be doing better.

C’mon Sam. Show us what you’re made of man!

The Best of the Rest

Gregg Marrett......

With a fantastic 91 points in 106th place we find Gregg Marrett. Gregg has a superb team name – Hair is for girls. However, his choice of triple captain in a man with a lot of hair, Kun Aguero, didn’t quite work out for him. Another one who would have been better with our ‘Arry.

Welcome to the newsletter Gregg.

Taxi for...........

Alexis Sanchez……

Strange goings on at the Emirates with Wenger falling out with his best player and dropping him for the Liverpool game. Who knows how Sanchez will react (apart from trying to hide his laugh as Arsenal were demolished by Bayern), but in our opinion it can’t exactly help his game. We wonder if it’s time to…

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

Willy Caballero………

Willy was a bit of a joke at City until his penalty saves in last season’s League Cup Final won City the trophy. The City fans, witty as ever, went away from Wembley singing

There’s only one Caballero

One Caballero

He used to be sh1te

But now he’s alright

Walking in a Willy wonderland

Since taking over as first choice from that other joke, Claudio Bravo, City have done quite well in defence and only conceded one goal in the last 5 games. Willy himself has scored 28 points in those five games and yet he’s only £4.7m with less than a 1% ownership.

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

We’re going to look at an Arsenal fan from Norway, Reidar Herre this week. Raidar’s booked a very creditable 93 points this week to leave him with 1,712 points.

So, what’s his team?

Grant

Brunt

Valencia

Alonso

Sigurdsson

Firmino

Snodgrass

Sterling

Kane

Aguero

Lukaku

His subs were

Jakupovic, Phillips, Baines, Holgate

Not bad eh?

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it’s the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren’t putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn’t it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?

“When I was unsure about leaving my employer, Tim listened to my career aspirations and frustrations and within 24 hours had presented several opportunities to pursue that fit in with my personality and goals, which reassured me that he has great industry knowledge, and that he listened 100% to what I was looking for. I secured new employment very quickly and couldn't be happier with the process. He managed the process very professionally, was always in contact and took a lot of the stress and unease of finding a new company to work for away. I’ll recommend him to anyone I know looking for a new position in the future, thanks Tim!”
