Week 37 is the big one

Both Boro and ManU have double gameweeks next week so watch out for the triple captain opportunities if you have Ibra etc, although after the win at Old Trafford last weekend, Ibra’s place cannot be guaranteed for both games. It may be that Jose saves him for his grudge match against Pep on the Thursday. City fans reckon that United have the advantage in this rare Premiership game held on a Thursday because they’re so very used to playing on Thursdays. It will also be held on what City fans call Denis Law Day in remembrance of the Derby held at Old Trafford on that day in 1974 when former Red, Denis Law given a free transfer to City, backheeled the ball into the United net to send them down to the old Second Division.

Gameweek 37 is the big one with no less than 10 teams having a double gameweek. This seems the best opportunity to use your Triple Captain Chip, but remember that time is running out to use your others and you should start using the Bench Boost and All Out Attack Chips now.

The teams with double gameweeks in week 37 are as follows:

Agency names please

Will those who are in with a chance of winning something this season please note the agency names rule and that means changing your team name to include that of your agency. Otherwise, you could be any old Tom, Dick or Harry from outside recruitment and we wouldn’t know. No agency name, no prize, sorry.

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Marc Cohen

Jay Egersdorff, ESP

Jonathan Sweasey, PDA Search and Selection

Marcus Francis

Oli Ottey, GM

Stuart Burton, FuturaRec2Rec

Neil Arnold, Barker Munro Recruitment

Mark Mayall

Ashley Morris

Chris McEnaney

Manager of the Week

Matt Newman.......

Matt has ended up in overall 4th and 5th positions in previous seasons and so it’s nice to see him making a late charge to the top. Whether this will be enough or not remains to be seen. In a week when the average points were just 46, Matt’s 71 is indeed impressive and this was helped no end by having Kane as his captain. We’re sure many more of us will be joining him in that very shortly!

Great to see you back Matt. Very well done.

Phillip Brass......

It was just a couple of seasons ago when Phillip was up there with the big boys finishing 17th overall in week 38. This week he’s scored a very creditable 70 points with Son as his captain. We predict every good team will have its full complement of Spurs players between now and the end of the season.

Where HAVE you been, Phillip?

The Best of the Rest

Isaak Badru.....

Wow! Isaak is making this award his own, having won it just a few weeks ago. 73 points in 138th place is not to be sniffed at but in week 30 he was in 142nd spot so we must ask, what has he done in the other weeks to make such little progress? We suspect that Isaak is following the ups and downs of his favourite team, Liverpool in this respect.

Taxi for...........

Diego Costa…….

Owned by a third of all managers, Costa is probably the one player who got Chelsea to their commanding lead in the table but their fortunes seem to have followed his. No goals in the past 5 games and only two in the past 10. Just two assists in 8 games and they were against Bournemouth. He’s just 14th in the strikers’ form table and cost £10.3m. Can you afford to hang onto him? Maybe you should just ….

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

If Spurs are on fire then so is Son. 5 goals in the last 4 games brings his season’s total in all competitions to an incredible 19 in 40 games. And best of all for the FL managers, he’s a midfielder and therefore gets 5 points for a goal and also shares in the clean sheet points. With just 11.3% ownership and a price tag of just £7.2m it really is a ………

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

This week we’re going to look at Mohammad Bahnassy’s team. Mohammad is an Arsenal fan from Egypt and has scored a respectable 66 points this week to bring him to a total of 2067.

So, what’s his team?

His subs were

Jakupovic, Pedro, Alonso, Nyom

Not bad eh?

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it’s the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren’t putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn’t it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?

“Tim Goodwin helped us hire for our team recently and has proved to be reliable and more importantly he delivered results. ‘Overpromise and underdeliver’ didn’t apply here as we had found with other suppliers – Tim was honest, set expectation levels at the outset and met them. I would recommend him to anybody needing external support. Spot on.”
