You’re not special anymore

We thought the Chelsea fans were a tad ungrateful to Jose yesterday. After all, he’d been their most successful manager and they should show him a little more respect which was exactly Jose’s point at the end when he whispered in Conte’s ear and berated him for celebrating too much. We wonder if Taggart did the same when The Special One went sliding down the touchline on his knees at Old Trafford whilst managing Porto?

The Daily Mail had some interesting stats regarding ex Chelsea managers yesterday. They gave the win percentages of all of Abramovich’s managers and it was quite surprising. Top of the tree was Avram Grant with 68.7% followed by Ranieri with 66.7%. Jose came 3rd with 66.1%.

The Premiership race is well and truly wide open with 5 teams separated by just one point and 3 of them on the same points. Who’s going to win? Liverpool and Chelsea are our favourites because they’ve got no European competition to distract them.

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

Adam Kaye

Rob Smith

Jay Egersdorff

Andy Dunne

Jack Lakin

Glenn Mason

Nathan Green

Seamus Tunney

Mark Grove

Richard Hogg

Manager of the Week

Andy Jamieson.......

With 25 points for his defence alone made Arsenal fan, Andy’s week despite having 4 goal De Gea in nets. In a week when nobody’s choice of captain did very well, Andy’s idea of Sanchez didn’t seem so bad. After all, the Gunners were bound to put a bag full past lowly Boro weren’t they? The last time Andy featured in these pages was at the end of last season when he was 178th in our league. We wonder if his wife is helping him this season?

Well done Andy. Keep it up!

Chris Crouch......

With 72 points in 54th place we’ve got Chris Crouch and we have to admire Chris’s midfield which brought him 40 points this week. Walcott (C), Shaqiri, Redmond and Coutinho is a pretty good line up we’d say. Add to that 10 points from Valdes and you’ve had a great week. Chris had never had a mention in our newsletter before so…..

Welcome to the newsletter Chris.

The Best of the Rest

James Mackinnon......

At 105th place with 55 points we find James Mackinnon who won this very same award last week and who has moved up 20 places in a week. We did point out last week that “there’s no way that James should be in this position with a team as good as this.” Well, he seems to be proving us correct.

As we said last week, with this team James, you can go places.

Taxi for...........

Michail Antonio......

13% of us have Antonio in our team but that figure is set to drop sharply. After Ibra, he was the most transferred out player in the whole league. Antonio hasn’t got a goal nor an assist in the past 4 games and was subbed over the weekend. He’s too dear to persist with.

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

Charlie Austin.........

2 seasons ago playing for a dreadful QPR side, Charlie bagged 18 goals and 8 assists. He looks like he’s getting that form back now with 4 goals and an assist in his last 5 games. At £6.5m and just 10% ownership he’s perfect for your cheap striker strategy.

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

The top manager of the whole league this week is Egypt’s Ahmad Fahmy.  Ahmad scored just 53 points this week to take him to an incredible 597 points. We don’t know about you but we can’t find a lot of inspiration here. How did he get to the top of the league with this lot?

So what’s his team?

Heaton

Holebas

Fuchs

Koscielny

Meyler

Coutinho

Lamela

Sanchez (c)

Wilson

Aguero

Lukaku

His subs were

Foster, Collins, Smith, Chadli

Hmmmmm

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it’s the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren’t putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn’t it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?

“Tim Goodwin helped us hire for our team recently and has proved to be reliable and more importantly he delivered results. ‘Overpromise and underdeliver’ didn’t apply here as we had found with other suppliers – Tim was honest, set expectation levels at the outset and met them. I would recommend him to anybody needing external support. Spot on.”
