The Recruitment International Fantasy League Sponsored By Futura Rec2Rec

Welcome back!!

Wow! It’s that time already and so much to look forward to.

Can Liverpool overtake City? Can Sarri turn around Chelsea in double-quick time? Can Spurs compete without any squad strengthening at all? How will Emery restore Arsenal back to their traditional 4th place and will Jose see the season out?

But it’s not just about the top 5. There’s intrigue throughout the league and what’s interesting is which clubs have spent the most in net spend terms, how Fulham are second top and City are 6th from bottom.

We’ve got a record number of managers in our league this year and for those newbies, we send out a newsletter every week featuring the very best managers at all levels.

If you want to receive the newsletter direct, please email fantasyfootball@futurarec2rec.com and we’ll put you on the list or you can view it at www.futurarec2rec/updates/2018

In our league, the Top 10 are as follows:

  • Paul Keeley
  • Neil Methold
  • Will Hadley
  • Adam Eld
  • Christopher Reilly
  • Ewan Melling
  • Rob Dove
  • Rich Nelson, Core Talent
  • Marc Cohen
  • Dominic Cooke

Welcome to all our new faces. In fact, we only recognise Adam Eld from previous years so the spider’s web that is Recruitment International and Futura is spreading far and wide.

On the topic of far and wide, the league is for those working in the UK for a recruitment agency. Those managers who are working for an agency but working overseas are free to participate but they can’t win any prizes. Those of you not in recruitment will unfortunately have to leave the league. Sorry!

Manager of the Week

Paul Keeley .......

The MOTW award is for the highest points that week for those managers on page 1. This week it’s obviously the same as the top of the league and that means City fan, Paul Keely. Paul scored an amazing 107 points this week and 40 of them were from his defence and goalie. However, we don’t know many proper City fans that would have any, never mind two ManU players in their team.

Hang your head in shame Paul!

Page 2 Pacesetter

Rob Mclean ......

The Page 2 Pacesetter award is for the best points that week on page 2. In the event of a tie, we take the lowest placed manager.

This week it’s Rob Mclean with a fantastic 80 points. Forwards haven’t done great this week and Rob’s three scored just 5 points between them. Like Paul Keely, he did however do well with his defence where he bagged 31 points including an incredible 18 from Palace alone.

We somehow don’t think that Palace defence is going to last the season Rob!

The Best of the Rest

James Woodward ....

The Best Of The Rest award is only for those managers on Pages 3 & 4 on the basis that if any managers on the lower pages get there, they’ve just had a lucky week. If there’s a tie we take the manager in the lowest place.

This week it’s Venatu Consulting’s James Woodward with a superb 73 points. James is a huge Liverpool fan and we think it’s rather strange that in a season when they could eventually win their first Premier League title ever, James has somehow only managed to squeeze 2 Liverpool players into his squad. Could it really be that Charlie Daniels is a better buy than Trent Alexander-Arnold for the same price?

We think we should be told!

Taxi for...........

Harry Maguire  ………

Although Harry played brilliantly for England and if he’d had got his move to Old Trafford he’d be a bargain, we’re not too sure at Leicester. At £5.5m we think that 17% ownership is going to get quickly fed up. We think you should….

Get him binned!

One to watch..........

Luke Shaw ………

ManU have always had a great defence even before Jose arrived and he just reinforced that philosophy. He was very complimentary about the performance of his sausage butty loving left back at the weekend and if he keeps the ageing Young out of the team, he’s a shoe-in at £5m and could just be a…………

No Brainer!

Team of the Week

Every week, we look at one of the best teams in the league to see where we’re all going wrong.

This week we’re going to look at Arsenal fan, Alex Baleanu’s team. Alex scored an incredible 137 points this week and he even left 30 points on the bench! No wonder he’s top of the league. His only mistake seems to be putting 12-point Wan-Bissaka as his third sub.

So, what’s his team?

McCarthy

Van Aanholt

Shaw

Robertson

Salah

Richarlison

Mane

Bernardo

Zaha

Aguero

Mitrovic

His subs were

Hart, Fraser, Bednarek, Wan-Bissaka

Not bad eh?

Team names please

The reason we ask for your agency name as part of your team name is because it’s the only way we can ensure that we are paying the prizes out to the correct managers and that those managers are genuinely in the recruitment industry.

With the latest hacking of our league from semi-professional FL-ers, its even more important. Please help us manage the league better by doing this.

However, those of you who aren’t putting in your team names are missing out on some great publicity for your agency and, as recruiters tend to be competitive creatures, isn’t it better to beat you rivals in business AND in the fantasy league?
